Pony.ai stressed that the entire system is designed for mass production. The system inherits its original sensor fusion technical approach, with upgraded sensor quantity and design, as well as scaled solid-state LiDAR usage.
The system is equipped with 23 sensor, four LiDARS on the top of the car, three LiDARs on the two sides and the rear end, four millimeter-wave angle radars on the top corners, one front facing long range millimeter wave radar, and eleven cameras.
Moreover, Pony.ai boasts its core hardware development through the new generation system. The system adopts Pony.ai’s self-developed auto-grade L4 autonomous driving computing unit.
Notably, Pony.ai has partnered with Nvidia, introducing multiple computing unit solutions based on Nvidia’s Orin system-level chip and Ampere architecture GPU. The solutions are compatible with autonomous driving passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.
